Summary


Over 30 years experience in the computer industry as a systems/application programmer and network engineer  Recent programming experience with Oracle 9.0i SQL, Visual FoxPro V8 and .NET. Recent network engineering includes 2000/2003 Server, Windows XP, Virtual PC, routers, firewalls, RAID, SATA, Gigabit and Wireless networking, managed Antivirus solutions.

Began programming professionally in 1968, Started working with PC's in 1982, extensive experience in numerous languages from Fortran II/Cobol /Assembly to Visual Foxpro V8.0 / Access/ Visual Basic & C++, C#, Java. Recently experience with Oracle 9.0i SQL and PL/SQL.
Currently Design and maintain several web sites using Unix and Windows IIS.
Developed and largely coded systems consisting of over 200,000 lines of code (assembly lanuage). Installed and maintained PC based LAN’s since 1987. Maintained hardware (minicomputers and PC’s) since 1974. Managed projects/programmers/technicians since 1972.



Experience


2/94 – Present, Consultant, and President of S&CC, Houston, Arizona and Newport Beach-CA. Installing and supporting Novell, Win9x, NT, XP & Windows 2000/2003 servers/workstations for small to medium businesses. Programming in Foxpro 2.6(DOS & Windows), Visual Foxpro 5,6 & 8, SBT Accounting Pro Series 3, 5 & 6). Provide user support and programming for Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Access, Frontpage, etc). Numerous projects involving FoxPro 2.6-8  including consultation/programming.


SBT(FoxPro) Experience


Maintained, Installed, programmed and sold SBT accounting software starting in 1987 (Series 6 – Dbase II/Foxbase II), substantial experience with all SBT versions including Vision Point, Pro Series 3, 5 & 6 using Foxbase, Foxpro 2.6, Visual Foxpro 5 & 6.


2/2000 – 12/2000 Project Manager – Mig International – New York City. Part time position providing programming (Foxpro 2.5 through Visual Foxpro 6) and project management over the Internet from Mesa, Arizona. Specializing in Visual Foxpro & SBT accounting using Windows 98 & Windows 2000.

9/92- 1/94 NRS Financial Systems Inc, Tustin, Ca.  Manager of Software Development, then Manager of R&D.Programmed extensively with Clipper 5.2 & C, combining graphic images into database package. Initiated, managed and programmed switch to Foxpro for Windows   V2.6 for Future development. Completely responsible for all network setup installation & maintenance. Switched from Artisoft network to Novell 3.11. Set up PS/2 networks for Union Bank of California. Programmed NCR & Lefblure cash dispensers, using Microsoft C. Installed and maintained SBT accounting for in house use including manufacturing.


11/90-9/92 - Independent Consultant - Houston, TX. Setup & maintained Novell & Artisoft networks for end users, programmed in Foxpro 2.0 – Foxpro 2.5 maintaining SBT accounting and developing stand alone programs.


8/89- 11/90 Raynet Electronics - Houston, TX. Lead Programmer. Developed real time assembly language & C software for special Motorola 68010 board (designed by Raynet) to interface ALC 3270 terminals to X.25 satellite network. Then Developed 16 port 3270 replacement. Worked closely with design engineers from concept to first ROM to completed application. Developed real time OS for the 68010 from previous work on Modcomp computers.  Continued to support SBT accounting customers on a part time basis using Foxbase.


8/87-8/89 New Age Computers- Houston, TX.  Store Manager, Sold & serviced PC compatibles. In addition to my technical work I sold $50-$70k computers. per month. Programmed in Foxbase 2.0 supporting SBT accounting. Installed and supported Novell networks.


1974-1986 Software & Communication Concepts, Inc. Houston, TX. Founded company and was lead software engineer/project manager on project   to develop large (over 300 comm lines) front-ends for Control Data Mainframes.The system was written in assembly language, using Modcomp mini computers  We sold systems with as many as 512 communication lines (modems) to  such customers as US. Government , McDonnell Douglas, Tektronix & several Universities in the US, Canada & Europe. Managed 4 programmers & 5 hardware support personnel.


1968 - 1974 Programmed in FORTRAN, COBOL, PL/1, assembly language on IBM & Control Data mainframes.


Education


2004 Mesa Community College, Advanced C++,C# Java, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Entity Relationship, Windows 2003 Server, & Unix administration. Since starting in January 2004 until present (March 2003) Have Maintained a 3.75 (of 4.0) grade point average MCC-Transcript-April2005.htm


1968-1971 - Trinity University (San Antonio) worked on a degree in mathematics, but specializing in Computer Science., received ‘A’ on all computer science courses.

Extra Curricular



Private Pilot with multi engine & instrument ratings  Over 3000 hours Pilot in command. DOD Top Secret Clearance - 1980.
